Observational skills
We carried out Sunflower observational painting last Summer – the children were so imaginative and some painted what they saw creating pieces of floral art work. This invitation to learn promoted the development of enhanced observation skills as well as early scientific thinking. Children increased their vocabulary as they (and the practitioners) described what they could see and feel as well as improving their fine and gross motor skills when painting.
