Your child’s safety and security is always our priority

Fire

Whilst Our Day Nursery Child Safety protocols were being developed, we consulted with a third-party Fire Safety Specialist. In addition, all advisory points have been adhered to via our building contractors relating to our detection and alarm providers.

Staff

When staff start working at the nursery, an enhanced DBS check is submitted. Staff are not left unsupervised until these checks are received and they are cleared to work with children in our care. Two references are required for all child-facing roles. Our Day Nursery Child Safety is our priority at all times.

Access

Visitors to the nursery will have to enter via the main gates, which will only be open during specific times throughout the day. Outside of these times, parents can call the office to enter. Once through the main gates, parents will need to ring the door to be granted access into the setting via the intercom system, which the Nursery Manager controls ensuring we always know who has gained entry to the building. Visitors to the nursery will be asked to sign in using the visitors book and will be accompanied by a team member at all times.

Safeguarding/Data

Our Day Nursery Child Safety is our priority. When a child starts with us, and as part of our registration process, we ask for a recent photograph of both parents and any other carers who will be collecting your child from the nursery. If someone else collects your child, we should be informed in advance and they must provide us with the password given to the nursery when your child starts. Our adherence to GDPR protects all data, which will be held securely and never shared with third parties.

CCTV

Each room has CCTV cameras to protect the children and staff during the day-to-day running of the nursery•.

•CCTV cameras to be installed from October 2022
